Antakya Biennial Artist Network

A network map tracing the past group exhibitions of artists in the 2nd International Antakya Biennial, revealing shared trajectories and curatorial connections.

This work maps the relational network of artists who participated in the 2nd International Antakya Biennial by tracing their shared exhibition histories. For each artist, past group shows were analyzed to identify other artists they had previously exhibited with. These co-exhibition links form the basis of a network that reflects how artistic paths intersect over time.

The resulting map includes 2,263 artists and visualizes their connections through shared curatorial contexts, offering a view into the broader professional landscape in which these artists operate. The network reveals recurring collaborations, overlapping circles, central figures, and isolated positions—offering insights into the social and curatorial dynamics of the international contemporary art scene.

By surfacing these hidden patterns, the project highlights how exhibitions function not only as sites of presentation, but also as structures of relation, circulation, and influence within the art world.
